About this product
The Peavey Invective MH is a compact tube amplifier head offering switchable power output of 20, 5, or 1 watt, making it suitable for practice, recording, and small gigs. Designed in collaboration with metal guitarist Misha Mansoor, it features a high-gain preamp with three channels and built-in noise gate. Includes a free MR DJ instrument cable and phone holder. The all-tube design uses EL84 power tubes and provides authentic tube saturation. Ideal for guitarists seeking versatile, low-wattage tube tone.
Our take
I grabbed the Invective MH for bedroom practice and recording. The 1-watt mode is perfect for cranked tones at low volume, while 20 watts can keep up with a drummer in a small room. The high-gain channel has plenty of saturation for metal, and the noise gate is tight. However, the clean channel is just okay, and the free cable is basic. The phone holder is a gimmick. Build quality is solid, but the price is steep for a 20-watt head. If you need a portable tube amp with modern features, it's worth considering.
